Did you Know?
The parent apples of the EverCrisp® are Fuji and Honeycrisp? Growers were on a mission to bring together the best qualities of each apple. In spring 1998, grower Mitch Lynd collected pollen from a Fuji tree and used it to pollinate Honeycrisp tree flowers. In the fall, he collected the apples, removed the seeds, and germinated them in a nursery for a year. The next year, he distributed thousands of seedlings to other growers, and it took several years for the seedlings to produce fruit. EverCrisp® apples entered the public marketplace in 2017.
